Drass continues its supervisions on installation activities on Changxing Island (Shanghai) at Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co. Ltd (ZPMC) shipyard.
The activities in progress are mainly focused on the alignment of the 24-Man Diving Chamber Complex which consists of the following equipment:

[dt_vc_list]

  • 4 Single Lock DDCs Ø2300
  • 4 Entry locks Ø2300
  • 2 Horizontal single lock TUPs Ø2300
  • 2 Escape Trunks
  • 2 Escape Locks
  • 2 HLB Spools & Clamps
  • 2 Bell Mate Spools & Clamps
  • 1 Emergency Spool & Clamp

Verifications and inspections of equipment’s positions, measurements of flanges, thicknesses, tightening of bolts and final tuning of the mating are only few of the activities which currently involve Drass, Sealion Shipping, ZPMC and DNV-GL, who are working together in this important phase.
Every single step is witnessed and recorded in Drass’s Installation procedure, all the measurements are tracked in specific technical reports along with all the tightening torques which are recorded in detailed certificates as part of Drass Site QCP. The second key milestone, after the completion of the chambers complex alignment, will involve the alignment of the Handling System, with the aim of ensuring the correct mating between Bell Mate Spools and Diving Bells.
In addition to the supervision activities, Drass is undertaking an inspection & maintenance service of the Diving Equipment currently installed on board in order to ensure that ZPMC preserve the condition of the equipment in view of future commissioning and system operation. This specialized service is executed with a dedicated Maintenance Team, with specific mechanical, electrical and piping skills, and deep technical knowledge of Drass Diving Equipment and components.
A big thank to the Drass Site Team (Site Manager, QHSE Manager, Maintenance Team) who will continue to support ZPMC with their non-stop supervision even over the Christmas period!
